About Face Dental Hygiene Spa offers holistic preventive Dental Hygiene services in a spa setting and a full line of skin care services.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
The idea of a dental spa came to me during a discussion in one of my classes when I was studying for my Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene at Oregon Institute of Technology in Klamath Falls. The topic was "Why is there still a high number of the population that are dentally under-served?" There are many answers to this. I believe many people avoid the dentist due to dental anxiety and I knew there was a kinder holistic way to deliver preventive and therapeutic Oral Health Care. I have been working towards my goal of opening a dental hygiene spa and gaining experience for over 10 years. I am also a Licensed Aesthetician with advanced training in skin care so I may offer true skin care services such as chemical peels and microdermabrasion along with facials.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We are a true dental spa, offering every preventive and therapeutic service you would expect to receive from a dental hygienist in a dentist's office in a calm and relaxing spa setting with heated bed and blanket and the option to add skin care services to your dental cleaning. Or come in for skin care services only. But what ever service you are receiving, you will not hear or smell the sounds or feel the hustle bustle typically associated with a dental office.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
About Face Dental Hygiene Spa has one location at SE 24th and SE Belmont Street, Portland. Located within Sunnyside Holistic Group.
