Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
Graffeo Chiropractic Clinic (formerly ParkView Chiropractic Center) has been offering natural family health care in the East Portland area since 1983. We are known for our caring, personal service and excellent chiropractic care.
What is your primary product or service?
Our doctors provide expert chiropractic care. We treat people from many cultures with a wide range of conditions, from auto accident injuries to general health complaints. We offer an extensive range of services, including spinal rehabilitation, nutritional and metabolic counseling, physiotherapy, and massage therapy. We treat people of all ages, from newborns to great-grandparents, often entire families, spanning several generations.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Each of our doctors became interested in chiropractic care in different ways. One was interested in nutrition as a pathway to health, another was looking for an alternative to mainstream medicine, with its emphasis on drugs and surgery. When they learned of the natural health alternative, chiropractic, each felt they had found their calling in life, and invested many years in their chiropractic education, dedicating their lives to helping people heal naturally without drugs and surgery. It's a wonderful thing to help a patient who has walked into the office in pain start smiling again and finish their treatment returned to health. We receive so many comments from our patients telling us how happy they are with their treatment here and how glad they are to be out of pain. For our doctors, that's the best reward for all their hard work. It's why they became chiropractors - to help people heal naturally, without drugs or surgery.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Our large staff includes full-time translators for our patients who speak Russian, Romanian, Spanish and Hmong. Our professional team can help you deal with your insurance company and help you with all the paperwork involved in your claim. We have been doing this for more than 30 years, and we can walk you through the process, even if English is not your first language.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have been growing at this location for 30 years, and we're helping more people than ever. We'll see what the future brings!
Provide detailed directions to your location
You can find us easily at the corner of NE 162nd Avenue and Glisan Street, right next door to Walgreen's and across the street from Tienda De Leon.
What type of payments do you accept?
For any charges not covered by your auto accident or workers compensation insurance, we accept payment in cash, checks, Visa, Mastercard and Discover.
Which areas do you service?
When you select a chiropractor, it's best to choose one who is close to your work or your home, or on the way in between them, as you will be visiting us frequently at the beginning of your treatment. We are right on the border between Portland and Gresham, so most of our patients live in East County. However, we have patients who come to see us from as far north as Longview, and as far south as Salem, because they prefer our friendly staff, experienced doctors, and the cheerful, healing atmosphere in our clinic, and because they know we can provide the interpretation services they need.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Our senior doctors have owned and operated our clinic since the day it opened over 30 years ago.
What are your hours of operation?
We are open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Monday, Wednesday and Friday (closed from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM), 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM on Tuesday and Thursday, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, and closed Sunday. We welcome walkins, but we are often busy, so it's best to call for an appointment.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
The best compliment we receive is when our patients refer their family and friends to us for care.
What is your favorite quote or Bible verse?
Thomas Edison said: "The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will instruct his patient in the care of the human frame, in diet and in the cause and prevention of disease." Chiropractors have always focused on just this type of care, and even medical doctors are turning to 'wellness' care now, helping their patients change their lifestyle to acheive good health.
